I like to remember that in traditional Native American societies, the women went to the Moonlodge teepee when they were menstruating. For the days they were bleeding, the men, grandmothers and children brought the women food and water, so that the women could rest.
And during this time of rest, the women performed ceremonies and did spiritual work, visioning the future of the tribe. Powerful!
Can you imagine if for the 5-7 days of your period each month you didn’t have to cook, clean or do anything other than connect with Spirit?

Though modern Western society doesn’t necessarily embrace the idea of Moonlodge, we as individual women can … we can honour our bodies, and our energy levels during menstruation. We can take time for extra rest and meditation. We, and our families, our community and indeed the whole world may benefit as a result.
